HIGH HOPES FOR FEN TIGERS

MILDENHALL general manager Lee Chipchase has given the seal of approval to the National Development League set-up for the new season.

The 2021 champions had to delay their entry over the winter to ensure funding was in place, and have vowed to do everything possible to remove the problems they encountered with long-running meetings last year.

Chipchase said: “With the NDL looking a much more evenly balanced division this year we won’t be seeing some teams turn up at Mildenhall with a number of inexperienced riders and the problems that can cause in the running of meetings, which we are determined will run much more smoothly this season.

“Also by putting the start time back an hour to 4pm we will have more time for track preparation to cope with the range of weather conditions that can affect a speedway track – more time to dry out if that’s needed, and more time to deal with a dry track in the heat of summer.”
