ARMADALE have signed 16-year-old Archie Freeman following the withdrawal of Newcastle from the National Development League.
Freeman comes in to replace Sheldon Davies who was released after Saturday’s win over Belle Vue, and will make his debut against Leicester on July 2.
He said: “I think I’ve ridden at Armadale four times and although I had a crash there in the British Youth Championship, I’ve learnt from that.
“I had a few offers from other clubs but this is the one I chose. I know the Armadale riders well especially the Millar brothers, we have a good chat and I get on with them.
“Losing the Gems was disappointing, we didn’t have a clue it was going to happen. I liked riding for my hometown club, but you can’t always have everything you want.”
