EDWARDS MAX AS FEN TIGERS WIN
MILDENHALL gained ground on the NDL play-off places with a 57-32 win over Kent at West Row on Sunday.
Jason Edwards scored an 18-point maximum for the Fen Tigers, who are now up to fifth place and are two points behind Oxford in the race for a top four finish.
Jack Kingston added 13+2 and reserve Josh Warren picked up 12+1, whilst guest Dan Thompson scored 12 for the Royals who suffered several crashes on the day.
Connor King (concussion), Jamie Halder (thumb) and Ben Morley (shoulder) were all unable to complete the meeting.
Mildenhall co-promoter Greg Palmer said: “This was a fine performance from the team today and I thought there was some excellent racing during the afternoon.
“It was disappointing to see three Kent rider withdraw, but no blame can be put on the track that rode excellently all afternoon.
“It certainly made a difference being able to start track prep yesterday with no stocks on the Saturday evening.”
Kent co-promoter Si Kellow said: “We seem to be joining the ranks of the clubs only a few fit and healthy riders. This further influx of injuries that weakens our line-up considerably is concerning, but John (Sampford) and I will be working towards a plan for Belle Vue on the 5th.”
