CUBS SECURE PLAY-OFF SPOT
LEICESTER confirmed their place in the National Development League play-offs by defeating Kent 56-34 at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena.
The Royals in fact had the majority of race wins, by eight to seven, but the Lion Cubs struck six 5-1s as they produced the stronger all-round team performance.
Tom Spencer and Connor Coles both scored 10+2 for the hosts, whilst Ben Morley and Max Clegg scored 12 for the Royals.
Leicester boss Dave Howard said: “We’re in the play-offs now so that’s good, and now we’ll see how high we can finish.
“This year it’s first against fourth and second against third in the play-offs, so it could be anybody we face, but for us it’s all about momentum, and we’ve done relatively well away from home everywhere.
“We’ve got the play-offs to come and the Cup Final against Mildenhall, so it should be a great end to the season for hopefully both teams. We just want to keep the momentum going.”
