AWAY WIN FOR ROYALS
KENT opened the National Development League season with an impressive 52-38 win at Plymouth on Tuesday.
The new-look Royals took all four league points from the meeting with Alfie Bowtell (11), Ben Morley (11) and Joe Alcock (10) all in double figures.
The Centurions were beset by crashes and engine failures, with Dan Gilkes top-scoring on 13 points.
Kent promoter Si Kellow said: “I was hoping on the drive down that the Royals would ride their socks off, and the result on the night speaks for itself.
“Plymouth had some bad luck with falls, but it certainly wasn’t an easy ride for us. Every point was earned tonight, and we mustn’t get complacent after one match.”
