YOUNG STARS TO COMPETE IN NDT

KING’S Lynn have confirmed they will be taking up their place in the new National Development Trophy competition next season.

It marks a return to third tier racing at the Adrian Flux Arena, with the Young Stars having finished runners-up in 2013 with a team including Robert Lambert, Lewis Kerr and Lewis Rose, all of whom went on to race for their senior side.

Former Buxton boss Jason Pipe has been named as manager with the full team line-up expected soon.

Pipe said: “I’m really looking forward to being back team managing at this level. It’s a level of speedway that I have enjoyed for a very long time. It’s always a pleasure to work with the riders at this level.

“I really thought my team managing days were over at this level. So it came as a pleasant surprise when long term friend Dale Allitt asked me to be involved again at this level, and it only took me less than five seconds to agree!

“I enjoyed myself at King’s Lynn last season as their Second Half co-ordinator and I thought I’d be doing that again next season, so this has come as a pleasant surprise.”
