THOMPSON MAX IN CENTURIONS FINALE

PLYMOUTH completed their National Development Trophy campaign with a 51-38 win over Kent at the Coliseum.

Joe Thompson scored a 14+1 paid maximum for the Centurions who moved up to third in the table with both Ryan Ingram (12) and Ben Trigger (11) also in double figures.

They pulled clear in the closing stages of what had been a close contest, with two 5-1 in the last two races extending their margin of victory.

But it wasn’t enough to take the aggregate point as the Eagles held on for a result which keeps them in pole position to be NDT runners-up. Ben Morley top scored with 13 from six rides.

Stand-in Kent manager Emily Humphrey said: “Well done to Plymouth, we gave them a run for their money and for a time we thought that we had them, but in the end they proved worthy winners.

“However, we were determined to claim the aggregate point and we did just that, so effectively we achieved what we came here to do.”
