PREVIEW: KENT EAGLES v LEICESTER (NDT)

KENT Eagles launch a new era of racing with their first appearance at Iwade as they host Leicester Fox Cubs in the National Development Trophy today (Sunday).

The project has been launched in order to bring official league racing back to the south-east and bring together supporters from Kent, Sussex and Essex with a team to unite behind.

The hosts are led by the experienced Ben Morley with Nathan Ablitt and former Leicester rider Vinnie Foord also in the side, whilst the Fox Cubs are without Mason Watson who suffered a broken wrist in their opener at Birmingham. Youngster Cooper Rushen steps in as guest.

Eagles mentor David Norris said: “I’m so pleased with what I’ve seen so far. We’ve had some good team chats and they’ve all taken advice on board.

“I’m absolutely buzzing for this and I’m sure anyone who comes here will be as excited as I am.”

Leicester co-boss Jen Crossland said: “It’s a shame for Mason to be missing out and hopefully he won’t be on the sidelines for too long.

“But it makes sense for us to use Cooper as a guest and as he knows Will (Cairns) well from all their Youth racing over the years we’ve paired them at No.1 and No.2, whilst Sonny (Springer) went so well at Birmingham he’s ready to race at No.5.”

KENT EAGLES: Nathan Ablitt, Nathan Hargrave, Vinnie Foord, Jacob Clouting, Ben Morley, Charlie Wood, Jamie Etherington.

LEICESTER: Will Cairns, Cooper Rushen, Ace Pijper, Stene Pijper, Sonny Springer, Max Broadhurst, Caydin Martin.

SCB Referee: Gary Allen
