BULLSEYE FOR GLADIATORS

PLYMOUTH defeated Birmingham 48-40 at the Coliseum which proved to be just enough to take the aggregate point.

The Gladiators had gone down by seven points in the West Midlands 24 hours earlier but second place for Ben Trigger in Heat 15 secured a maximum haul from the meeting.

That race proved to be the only defeat for Trigger (14) and Joe Thompson (11+1) who was disqualified from the initial staging, as Tom Spencer (12) took the flag for the Bulls in the re-run.

Sam McGurk (13) and reserve Senna Summers (10+2) also scored double figures for the visitors.
