TIME UP FOR CLEGG
FORMER British Under-19 Champion Max Clegg has announced his retirement from the sport at the age of 26.
Clegg made his debut at NDL level with Scunthorpe in 2012 and went on to be part of title-winning teams at all three levels of the sport with Dudley/Cradley, Edinburgh and Wolverhampton.
He also enjoyed double individual success in 2016 as in addition to his U19 crown he also became National League Riders’ Champion, whilst last year he had spells with Edinburgh and Scunthorpe.
Clegg said: “It’s been a long, exciting, adrenaline filled journey, but I have reached my final finish line.
“I feel that now is the right time for me to pursue new and exciting opportunities away from the track.
“Each and every fan, sponsor, team-mate and mechanic has helped me progress within my career, a career that I have absolutely loved and been so privileged to have had. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to you all.”
