STEVENS IS MR VINTAGE

SPEEDWAY aficionado Jon Stevens has been voted the UK’s Mr Vintage for 2024 – having attended the Twinwood Festival in full racing attire.

The event which has been held for the last 23 years, features musical performances inspired by music released from the 1920s up to the 1960s, and was held at RAF Twinwood Bedfordshire over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Grand Final of the UK Mr & Mrs Vintage competition took place and was concluded by the judge’s round, following a public vote held earlier in the year.

Jon, from Wimbledon, is known for his vintage style and passion for speedway along with his taste in vintage music. He was kitted out in vintage Dirt track Speedway racer attire. The outfit dates back to the 1920s and also included a vintage race tabard from the 1937 Empire Stadium Wembley World Final worn by George Newton.

Accessories included a pudding basin helmet with blue racing colour and goggles, a copy of the Speedway World newspaper dated 1938, and a travel case which oozed badges and flags from the different pre-war London Speedway clubs.

Jon is pictured with female winner Keri Bettis who has a passion for vintage styles and was dressed in original 1940s fashion, wearing a colour block royal blue and cinnamon coloured dress and royal blue princess coat accessorised with a celluloid brooch and plastic tile handbag plus a 1940s hat.

Congratulations!
