STEVE PLANS BIG NIGHT

STEVE Worrall is set to bring together a host of riders with strong Poole and Belle Vue connections when he stages his Testimonial at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

Worrall’s meeting will feature sides representing the clubs who won both senior league titles last season – including two high-profile international stars.

Antonio Lindback remains the track record holder at the Dorset venue, dating back to 2006, and the Swede will join five of last year’s victorious Pirates with former skipper Danny King stepping back in.

Worrall spent seven years with Belle Vue and their team on Wednesday includes five of last season’s Premiership winners, headed by Slovenian ace Matej Zagar.

Said Worrall: “The Poole team pretty much wrote itself, but on the Belle Vue team I wanted riders who I had ridden with in the past and who have been or are associated with Belle Vue.

“I also didn’t just want to bring in randoms. I wanted them all to be connected with the teams, so that the fans have a really good night with riders they know and will support.”
