ROWE GETS SGP2 CALL

GREAT Britain’s Anders Rowe has received a late call-up to the first round of the 2023 SGP2 series in Prague on Friday.

The Poole star was named as the second substitute for the series by the FIM last week but gets his chance due to wrist injuries for Francis Gusts and first reserve Nazar Parnitskiy.

Rowe, who narrowly missed out on permanent qualification in a run-off series which ironically included Gusts, received notification of the call-up just minutes before he represented his club Poole against Oxford at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted to get the call, although it is unfortunate for both Francis and Nazar.

“I will go to Prague with an open mind and try and achieve the best possible result and showcase myself on the World stage.”
