REFEREE GOES THE EXTRA MILE!

SCB Referee Dave Watters is walking around the UK’s speedway tracks – in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.

Watters is completing the MayDay Mile which involves walking a mile a day, and as far as possible he is combining it with his officiating duties at speedway.

He said: “So far this month I have done my mile a day walking around speedway tracks including Sheffield, Glasgow and Oxford, and also the Elizabethan Ramparts around Berwick upon Tweed.

“The other days my dog has been having extended walks which she doesn’t seem to be enjoying that much, so next week I shall be walking around more tracks I visit to give her a break!

“The RNLI is a charity very close to my heart, having recently completed a trek around the coastline of Great Britain and Ireland, and visiting all 238 of the Lifeboat stations.”
