PREVIEW: TEESSIDE SILVER HELMET, REDCAR

REDCAR star Lewis Kerr defends the Teesside Silver Helmet in the final meeting of the season at the Ecco Arena tonight (Friday).

Kerr is one of four Bears riders in the field with team-mates Erik Riss, Jordan Jenkins and Jason Edwards also included.

Bears promoter Jamie Swales has been forced into changes from last week’s original staging, but the field still includes the likes of Sam Masters, Ryan Douglas, Thomas Jorgensen and Benjamin Basso.

Swales said: “Ahead of last week’s Silver Helmet we had one of the strongest line-ups there has been for the event but one week has made all the difference with riders travelling home amongst other reasons

“We have a really open field with a number of riders in the event that are capable of winning it.”
