POSTPONED: RYAN DOUGLAS TESTIMONIAL, Leicester

SATURDAY’s scheduled Ryan Douglas Testimonial meeting at Leicester’s Hydroscand Arena has been postponed because of a huge downpour just prior to start time resulting in a waterlogged track. A new date will be announced in due course.

LEICESTER’S popular Australian star Ryan Douglas celebrates his Testimonial Meeting at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park today (Saturday, 4pm).

Douglas, who first raced in the UK in 2013 and has also given fine service to Scunthorpe and Wolverhampton, has secured a strong field for the event.

Lions regulars Max Fricke, Sam Masters, Luke Becker and Kyle Howarth are all involved as well as Douglas himself, with Grand Prix stars Dan Bewley, Brady Kurtz, Fredrik Lindgren and Jason Doyle also amongst the line-up

Douglas said: “It’s been a lot of organising but I’ve been lucky I’ve had Steph (Babb) on board, she takes a lot of the pressure away and I’m really looking forward to it now.

“It’s been a long six months getting things ready, but after seeing how well Niels’ (Iversen) meeting went last weekend, I’m excited for mine now.

“I spoke to a few people before and they said it can be quite difficult sometimes to get riders, but some people must like me I guess, because I was pretty lucky that everyone was on board straight away.”
