PREVIEW: BRITISH YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP, Scunthorpe

THE British Youth Championship moves on to Scunthorpe this evening (Friday), taking place after the KO Cup quarter-final between the Scorpions and Birmingham.

This event is just for the 250cc class and the 125cc support class, with the 500cc and 125cc Championship classes taking to the track at the Eddie Wright Raceway on July 7.

After a busy weekend at Edinburgh and Workington it is another good turnout of riders in the 125cc support class, with 13 riders taking part including the two winners from the weekend, Lewis Hague and Kane Newby.

The 250cc class has a smaller number for this event with both winners William Cairns and Cooper Rushen both unfortunately not available for this round, but with these two missing it will give the opportunity to the likes of Jamie Etherington and Seth Norman the chance of claiming their first win in the 250cc class.

After tonight’s event the series moves on to Redcar for a full round on Saturday June 17 at midday.

The Young Lions would like to thank the Scunthorpe promotion and the Young Lions series sponsors for their continued support of British Youth Speedway.
