PREVIEW: BJARNE PEDERSEN FAREWELL, Poole

DANISH star Bjarne Pedersen officially brings down the curtain on his career with a Farewell Meeting at Poole tonight (Wednesday).

Pedersen enjoyed sustained success with the Pirates over ten seasons in their colours, and then won a further top-flight title with Peterborough last year.

The Panthers provide the opposition for a special challenge match with five of the Premiership side’s regular septet lining up, whilst Kyle Newman is added to the home team.

Co-promoter Danny Ford said: “I think the best way we can mark Bjarne’s loyalty to Poole is to have a full stadium to witness his final circuit of the track.

“He has been a wonderful servant to the club over the years and is such a great chap.

“I feel sure that we will see families of different generations all gathering to pay homage to Bjarne as his long career deserves.”
