PENHALL IS WRSA GUEST OF HONOUR
GOLDEN boy Bruce Penhall will be the special guest of honour at the World Speedway Riders’ Association Awards night and dinner.
The two-time world champion, who quit speedway to become a Hollywood Star will be making a rare British appearance and will add a red carpet VIP gloss to the annual dinner at Leicester’s Marriott Hotel on Saturday, November 8.
It’s a major coup for the WSRA and tickets are now on sale and organisers are expecting a rush of orders with the release of the news that Bruce will be there.
He said: “I have such great memories of Britain. I’m looking forward to seeing some old friends and talking about the past.
“I’m so excited about it, I really am. I don’t get to do much in England any more and that was my life for five years, not very long, but five years I will never forget.
“I didn’t see the sun very much, I went from blond to brown, but I have such great memories, I really do.”
WSRA chairman Bert Harkins said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Bruce as this year’s Guest of Honour and we have to thank Ian Sinderson and Jason Crump from the ATPI Group who are world leaders in the travel and events industry who have made it all possible by ensuring everything will run smoothly as he flies here and back to his home in California.”
