NIGEL – ALWAYS IN OUR THOUGHTS

IT’S hard to believe that today already marks two years since we received the shattering news that our friend and colleague Nigel Pearson had passed away.

Nigel contributed so much to so many different areas of the sport, and he still had plenty more to give before his time was so cruelly cut short.

We have no doubt that he would have thoroughly approved of some of the recent changes to British Speedway, including the return of many of the sport’s top riders to race in the Premiership.

And he would also have had plenty to say about the forced closure of certain venues, the most recent examples being Wolverhampton and Peterborough.

Nigel’s impact on the sports he had such passion for will never be forgotten, and the outstanding success of the charity cricket day at Wombourne last September is testament to what he meant to so many people.

Please take a moment today to keep Nigel’s wife Kerrie and his children Liam, Jake and Sarah in your thoughts.

Nigel’s memory does live on thanks to the extensive archive of his commentary and reporting clips from speedway, darts and football, and we invite you to remind yourself by watching the tribute video below.
