KILDEMAND ADDED TO BONANZA
OXFORD Spires newcomer Peter Kildemand will get an early taste of his home circuit when he competes in the Ben Fund Bonanza at Cowley on Sunday March 23.
Danish star Kildemand, a former double Grand Prix winner, is back in British racing this year for the first time since before the pandemic, with his best years in the UK having been spent at Swindon.
He becomes the fifth rider with current Oxford connections to sign up for the fund-raising event, joinng Spires team-mates Maciej Janowski, Erik Riss and Charles Wright, and Cheetahs captain Sam Masters.
Kildemand said: “I haven’t used the Ben Fund before, luckily I would say, but I know what it does and I am so glad I can be in this meeting to raise some money for the riders who are injured.
“I’ve never ridden Oxford before because they weren’t in the league when I was there, but it looks like a cool track and I’m looking forward to that.
“I still have the same riding style but of course being a bit older I am hopefully a bit smarter now. When I’m on the bike I will always give 110 per cent.”
