GB TRIO HEAD TO GDANSK

DREW Kemp, Anders Rowe and Dan Gilkes head to Poland this weekend for the European Under-19 Pairs Final.

Kemp (pictured) and Rowe are the declared GB combination at Gdansk on Saturday with Gilkes travelling as the third member of the team – and boss Neil Vatcher believes after making their debut in the competition in 2020, a rostrum finish is achievable.

Vatcher said: “We are fortunate that it is being held at Gdansk as this is Drew’s home Polish track, and although he has not represented the club to date, he did travel to Poland pre-season and had a lot of laps around the circuit.

“Also, we all know Anders spent the 2020 season racing in Poland and he has knowledge of Polish circuits, along with Daniel recently making his European debut and doing a good job.

“We are certainly going there to challenge for a medal, but also respect that this is a European Final and every heat will be really tough.”

GB face competition from hosts Poland as well as Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Germany.
