FRUSTRATION FOR BRENNAN

IPSWICH and Great Britain star Tom Brennan was a mechanical failure away from a place in the Grand Prix Challenge on a frustrating night in Italy.

Brennan scored seven points in his GP Qualifier at Lonigo, but that included a retirement in his fourth outing when he was leading but suffered a rare bike issue.

As it turned out, a score of ten would have seen hm join the list of riders to make it through, which included King’s Lynn’s Jan Kvech and Oxford Cheetahs racer Francis Gusts.

Elsewhere Brennan’s Ipswich team-mate Adam Ellis missed out at Slovakian venue Zarnovica, scoring four points, but Birmingham star Matej Zagar was amongst the qualifiers.

And Belle Vue favourite Norick Blodorn booked his place in the SGP2 series with victory in the qualifier at Debrecen, but GB representative Luke Killeen went out on three points.
