OXFORD make third attempt to round off their season with the staging of a Four Team Tournament at Cowley tonight (Wednesday).

Inclement weather halted plans to run last Thursday and Sunday, resulting in the switch to tonight with a Cheetahs quartet taking on Select teams representing the currently inactive Coventry, Swindon and Wolverhampton.

Coventry legend Chris Harris and recent Oxford captain Scott Nicholls are amongst the riders in the line-up, whilst the meeting also celebrates Oxford Chargers’ WSRA National Development League title victory.

Cheetahs boss Peter Schroeck said: “It’s been a tough year for Oxford Speedway with the Spires and the Cheetahs, but the Chargers have been a shining light.

“This meeting will give the lads the chance to return home and parade their trophy in front of the Oxford fans.

“We’ve also invited select teams from Swindon, Coventry and Wolverhampton, and we hope to have plenty of fans from those clubs.

“There’s still huge support and enthusiasm for all three of these historic teams and we want to celebrate that at Oxford on Wednesday evening.”
