EAGLES SEE OFF HAMMERS

KENT Eagles overcame a Thurrock Hammers Select side 52-37 in a Challenge match at Iwade on Sunday.

Nathan Ablitt led a strong performance from the home side with 11 points, whilst Vinnie Foord picked up 9+2 and Ben Morley 8+1 despite both suffering mechanical trouble in one of their outings.

Morley was the only rider to defeat Thurrock No.1 Alfie Bowtell who scored 13+1, with Ben Trigger their other race winner.

Kent manager David Graveling said: “A great day on track for the team, everybody contributing points, Nathan (Hargrave’s) first ever heat win, Mickie (Simpson) a very capable guest and young Hadyen (Watts) getting a taste of team speedway. And of course, our first trophy.”
