DEMI BLU WINS GOLD TROPHY

BRITISH sensation Demi Blu Harris is celebrating victory in the Youth Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy of Croatia.
The 14-year-old, who trains regularly at Ipswich, roared to a 12-point maximum in the event for 250cc riders under the age of 16.

She said: “It’s probably the best thing I have ever done. I think I have got faster as the days have gone on.

“I was just enjoying myself out there. Hopefully I can come back next year.”

Meanwhile Rachel Hellowell was place eighth in the FIM Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy also at Donji Kraljevec. The event was won by 17-year-old German racer Hannah Grunwald ahead of defending champion Celina Liebmann.
