COMETS REMEMBER JAY

WORKINGTON have added an extra home meeting to their schedule this month to celebrate the life and memory of one of their young supporters.

The Comets will stage the Jay Cartmell Memorial at the GT Tyres Arena on Saturday September 20.

Eight-year-old Jay tragically lost his life last autumn from shotgun injuries whilst on a rabbit hunt at a local farm. He had also followed in his father’s footsteps by taking up speedway.

The meeting will feature a four-team tournament bringing riders, fans, family and friends together. A fundraiser for the event has been set up at gofund.me/7f4c14d4 .
