CAIRNS NINTH IN SGP2 OPENER

GREAT Britain’s Will Cairns picked up eight points from the opening round of the SGP2 (World Under-21) series in Malilla.

Belle Vue and Poole youngster Cairns made a strong start to the meeting with two wins and a second place in his opening three rides.

But just one point from his last two dropped him down the gate selection order for the Last Chance Qualifier, and he was eliminated from the meeting at that stage.

Former champion Wiktor Przyjemski went on to win the Final ahead of Danish duo Mikkel Andersen and Villads Nagel, with the second round to come at Polish venue Lodz on July 31.
