BRITISH SPEEDWAY IS TOP OF THE PODS!
BRITISH Speedway’s new official podcast has raced to the top of the Apple Podcast Sports News chart.
‘No Brakes, No Fear’ was launched on Tuesday night with guests including British Speedway Board members Rob Godfrey and Chris Louis, plus riders Sam Masters, Troy Batchelor, Bjarne Pedersen and James Wright.
Fans have lapped it up and the podcast will now be a weekly broadcast up until the conclusion of the season in October.
Presenter Ian Brannan is staggered by the response. The BBC and commercial radio host, who is based in the North East, said: “It’s a flying start to the podcast and I’m amazed by the response, the numbers are very strong.
“It underlines what a passionate fan base the sport has and we’ll continue to bring weekly content with the stars of the shale, managers, promoters and journalists as the weeks progress.
“We’ll discuss the challenges facing the sport in the months ahead as well as the positive stuff, there will be something for everyone.
“It was a pleasure to host on Tuesday and I’m looking forward to next week already.
“We are also making the audio clips with personalities available to radio stations around the country, those close to tracks, on a complimentary basis to spread the word of British Speedway.
“We’ve teamed up with the Sports Social podcast network, the UK’s only podcast platform dedicated to sport. They will help spread the speedway word to a wider audience and get more people to take a look at it on Eurosport and, ultimately, to head to a meeting in person and sample the sport for what it is.”
The podcast is available on all platforms including Apple, Google and Spotify, plus you can ask your smart speaker to play the British Speedway podcast.
