BRENNAN GOES CLOSE

GREAT Britain’s Tom Brennan retains an interest in World Championship qualification after a fine performance in Abensberg on Monday.

The Birmingham and Poole racer finished fifth at the German venue on ten points, one place below the qualification mark but in a position which will put him at the top of the stand-by list should any of the qualifiers not take their place in the Grand Prix Challenge in October.

Leicester captain Max Fricke was amongst the riders who made it through, whilst Leon Flint delivered a solid display with eight points, scoring in every ride.

Meanwhile Adam Ellis saw his hopes of progression ended as he finished tenth in the Debrecen qualifier on six points.
