BEES ON TRACK AT BIRMINGHAM

BIRMINGHAM’S new era of racing at Perry Barr will launch with an emotional meeting against a Coventry Bees Select side on Wednesday March 30.

As the fight goes on to restore the Bees’ former home at Brandon Stadium to its former glory, the Brummies will tackle a team of seven former Coventry riders.

Co-promoter Laurence Rogers said: “This will be a night not to be missed, I’m certain of that. It’s a great opportunity for the new management of the club to launch their season, and we hope to see plenty of Coventry supporters making the trip to join us.

“It’s ironic, of course, because Brummies fans are only too aware of how close they came to losing their own club, and we hope everyone supporters the new consortium.

“The Coventry riders will be announced soon as they are currently being spoken to, and a list of available riders has been drafted.

“It will be good to see the famous Bees colours out in force to join us on what is a night of celebration as we welcome in the new era at Perry Barr.”
