TIGERS ALL CHASING BRITISH HONOURS
GLASGOW promoter Alan Dick says his club’s riders deserve high praise for their British Final qualification feats this week.
The outcome of the semi-finals at senior and Under-21 levels means the Tigers will have four riders competing in the senior Final at Belle Vue on May 12, and four also in the Under-21 event at Ashfield on May 18.
Tigers reserves Max Perry and Freddy Hodder both made it through the Under-21 qualifier at Plymouth on Tuesday to join seeded riders Dan Thompson and Ashton Boughen.
And then Thompson won last night’s senior semi-final at Leicester with Leon Flint third on the night whilst Chris Harris and Kyle Howarth are both amongst the seeds for Manchester.
Dick said: “Every one of our declared 1-7 riders is in one of the two Finals with Dan Thompson, of course, competing in both.
“This must be some sort of record and surely never done before by riders of a Premiership or Championship club.
“The owners and promoters of Glasgow Speedway are proud and delighted with the achievement of all seven lads this week.”
