THE WRIGHT APPROACH!

FORMER champion Charles Wright is hoping a relaxed attitude pays dividends in Monday’s Sports Insure British Final on his home track at Belle Vue.

Wright enjoyed the highlight of his career when he took the title in 2019, which also earned him the Wild Card spot for the British GP at Cardiff.

Both prizes are up for grabs in Manchester on Monday with Dan Bewley defending the crown – and Wright has stressed he’s up for a repeat of four years ago.

He said: “The British Final is always a big event. It was an amazing feeling to win it before and all 16 riders want to get that championship under their belt.

“I think since that win, I perhaps have been putting too much pressure on myself every year it comes around.

“So this year I want to avoid doing that and just go out there and enjoy the meeting.”
