SCHROECK: PAIRS VERY COMPETITIVE!
OXFORD are set to kick off British Grand Prix weekend in style with the prestigious Championship Pairs at Cowley on Friday.
A host of top stars will compete for their clubs, with the Cheetahs staging the event for the second time as their return to the sport continues to be a huge success, attracting big crowds.
Sam Masters and Lewis Kerr represent the home side whilst recent CLRC winner Charles Wright defends the Pairs title for Redcar alongside Danny King.
The meeting also features the likes of Chris Harris, Josh Pickering and Ryan Douglas with all nine Cab Direct Championship clubs represented.
Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “It’s a quick format and one where the champions are decided by a single winner-takes-all race to round off the night which really appeals to the fans and wider public.
“We’re entering the meeting full of confidence and there’s no doubt in my mind we have the ability to take top honours. But it is a seriously competitive line-up, and no Pairs fixture ever passes without its upsets.
“It will be a great night of racing and we look forward to welcoming supporters from across the country.”
