PREVIEW: BRITISH U21 FINAL, REDCAR

REDCAR host the British Under-21 Final today (Sunday, 5pm) with a major national title on the line for the sport’s top rising stars.

There will be a new winner at the ECCO Arena as 2024 and 2025 champion Sam Hagon, who clinched his titles at Glasgow, is now outside the age range as is last season’s runner-up Joe Thompson.

However, the other two riders who contested an incredible decider at Ashfield last year, Luke Harrison and Will Cairns, are involved and are amongst the favourites with Harrison looking to double up after taking the U19 title back in October.

The home club are represented by Ace Pijper and Jody Scott, with their form this year meaning they are expected to be amongst the contenders, whilst there will also be several eyes on 16-year-old Cooper Rushen who has been piling up points in both senior leagues this year.

There are two further ‘home’ riders with Charlie Southwick and Harry Sadler both representing Middlesbrough Tigers, whilst recent 250cc graduates Ollie Binns and Seth Norman are the youngest riders in the field and in-form Ryan Ingram led the riders who made it through the recent Qualifier.
