PREVIEW: BRITISH U21 FINAL, GLASGOW

LEON Flint defends his title in this afternoon’s (Sunday, 2pm) British Under-21 Final at Glasgow.

The Wolverhampton and Berwick rider triumphed at Birmingham last year, and the Ashfield event also features the other two rostrum finishers from 2022, with Dan Thompson and former Tigers racer Connor Bailey looking to take another step or two on the podium.

Treble British Under-19 Champion Drew Kemp goes for his first win at Under-21 level after finishing second at Redcar in 2021, and the third placed finisher on that day, Dan Gilkes, also lines up.

The other previous podium finisher is Anders Rowe, who was third at Berwick in the pandemic-hit 2020 season, in a meeting which saw Flint take the runners-up spot behind current Grand Prix star Dan Bewley.

Meanwhile, home hopes rest with youngster Ace Pijper who has enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Cab Direct Championship.
