PREVIEW: BRITISH U19 FINAL, MILDENHALL
FORMER Mildenhall favourite Drew Kemp bids to become the first rider to secure a hat-trick of British Under-19 titles at West Row today (Sunday).
Kemp, who was victorious in both 2019 and 2020, takes his place in a strong line-up for the national Final which also includes last year’s fellow rostrum finishers Dan Gilkes and Jordan Palin as well as the in-form Leon Flint.
Home hopes are with current Fen Tigers duo Jason Edwards and Sam Hagon, and 12 of the 16 riders currently hold places in the senior leagues.
Mildenhall co-owner Phil Kirk said: “This is a major coup for Mildenhall Speedway and we are very proud as a club to have the opportunity to hold such an important and high-profile meeting.
“As with the British U21 semi-final we opened our season with, we are very grateful to Neil Vatcher and the BSPL for offering us this meeting and look forward to welcoming supporters from across the country to Mildenhall on Sunday.
“There is plenty of local interest with Peterborough and Ipswich riders competing along with Jason and Sam, and everything points to an exciting day of racing with the cream of young British talent on show.”
LINE-UP: Joe Thompson, Ben Trigger, Dan Gilkes, Jason Edwards, Sam Hagon, Dan Thompson, Archie Freeman, Drew Kemp, Kyle Bickley, Connor Bailey, Harry McGurk, Nathan Ablitt, Anders Rowe, Jordan Palin, Sam McGurk, Leon Flint. Reserves: Elliot Kelly, Kai Ward.
