NEW DATE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP PAIRS

THE Championship Pairs will take place at Poole on a new date of Wednesday September 2 (7.30pm).

All nine Championship clubs will be represented at Wimborne Road with Redcar defending the silverware they have won in three of the last four seasons.

Hosts Poole have never been Pairs winners at this level, but they went close in both 2022 and 2025 when they lost out to the Bears in the Final.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Saturday August 8 but a new date was required in order to alleviate fixture concerns.

It means the Championship has two big dates to look forward to in early September, with the League Riders’ Championship scheduled for Sheffield ten days later (Saturday September 12).

British Speedway chairman Rob Godfrey said: “Poole have always been committed to staging this event, and we’re pleased that a new date has been secured which is still within the summer holiday period.

“We’ve seen how competitive the Championship is this season and with each club nominating two of their top riders, this should be another great occasion.

“There’s a lot to race for over the coming weeks and I’m sure the Pairs will be very keenly fought with several potential winners.”
