
GILKES WINS SECOND U21 SEMI
DAN Gilkes led the qualifiers from Thursday’s second British Under-21 semi-final at Redcar.Kent youngster Gilkes won the meeting on 14 points, edging out Berwick’s Kyle Bickley on countback after defeating him when the two riders met in Heat 3.
Jason Edwards was third on the night with 13 points, reeling off four straight wins after a third place in his first outing.
The remaining places were taken by a trio of Leicester riders with twins Dan (13) and Joe (10) Thompson joined by Tom Spencer also on 10.
The six riders join the qualifiers from the first semi-final at Mildenhall and the four seeded competitors, with details for the Final to follow.
