DAN’S TIME TO SHINE?

IPSWICH and Glasgow star Dan Thompson believes the time is right to make a real impression in the Attis Insurance Sports Division British Final next Monday.

Thompson recently scored a 15-point maximum in the Semi-Final to head the qualifiers for Belle Vue and what will be his second British Final, the first coming under the shadow of Covid way back in 2020.

He said: “I’m looking forward to getting in the mix of it. Over the last season or two I’ve been well amongst some of the top riders, and sort of establishing myself a bit more.
“If I can go and get some wins and some points, I’ll see what I can do.

“Hopefully I can keep doing this for the next few years and maybe see myself on one of the podiums.

“I’ve only ever had the one go (at the British Final) when I was 16, and probably I was a bit out of my depth at the time, but I feel now that the time is right and I’m mixing it with all the top boys now.”
