CLRC SUNDAY COUNTDOWN
REDCAR team manager Gavin Parr says he has hopes of a home victory in Sunday’s Championship League Riders’ Championship as Charles Wright and Danny King represent the staging club.
But Parr says the Bears duo face a tough challenge with an ultra-strong field having been assembled for the showpiece event, with Wright defending the title he won last season.
He said: “Both Charles and Danny are confident, they have been in good form around Redcar and there is no reason why both of them can’t be in and amongst the challengers when we get to the latter stages.
“The line-up means we basically have 22 Heat 13’s to look forward to. The field looks really good on paper, it’s a testimony to the club for getting such a showpiece event and it should be a great spectacle.
“Additionally, the weather looks to be on our side too so it should be a fantastic day and a great meeting.
“It would be great to see fans from up and down the country come out and support the event. The meeting means a lot to the riders and they want the title.
“People would be mad to stay at home, get yourself along to the ECCO Arena for some superb speedway.”
There is a change to Berwick’s representation for the meeting with Drew Kemp coming in to replace Lewis Kerr, who is out with an ankle injury.
