BEWLEY TARGETS THE DOUBLE
BELLE Vue favourite Dan Bewley is chasing back-to-back titles in the Sports Insure British Final at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Monday).
All seven previous stagings of the event since it first took place at the Manchester venue in 2016 have resulted in different winners, and four of those previous champions are involved once again.
Tonight’s meeting will also see the Wild Card spot awarded for the British Grand Prix, which will go to the winner – or the runner-up if Bewley is successful again.
Said Bewley: “It was an awesome feeling to win last year. It was my first senior solo British title and it was cool to tick it off.
“I had a lot of fun in last week’s meeting at Belle Vue, I found some good speed but this is an event that everyone enjoys and all the boys are raring to go so I think it’ll be a good one.”
There are three changes to the original line up with Richie Worrall (withdrawn) replaced by Danyon Hume, whilst Rory Schlein is out after a crash at Berwick on Saturday.
Schlein is replaced by Connor Mountain, and Craig Cook is also missing due to injury with his place taken by Sam Hagon.
LINE-UP: 1 Simon Lambert, 2 Adam Ellis, 3 Danyon Hume, 4 Kyle Howarth, 5 Sam Hagon, 6 Danny King, 7 Connor Mountain, 8 Tom Brennan, 9 Ben Barker, 10 Chris Harris, 11 Steve Worrall, 12 Leon Flint, 13 Richard Lawson, 14 Lewis Kerr, 15 Dan Bewley, 16 Charles Wright.
