BEARS: NOTHING TO FEAR

REDCAR skipper Charles Wright believes he and Danny King have nobody to fear as the Bears’ British duo go in search of Championship Pairs glory at Oxford tonight (Friday).

Wright experienced victory in the event for the Teesside club amidst emotional scenes in 2022 when he teamed up with Lewis Kerr, and he also won with Sheffield earlier in his career, whilst King was successful for Ipswich alongside Rohan Tungate back in 2015 at Somerset.

Said Wright: “We don’t fear anyone, but it is the type of event which any of the pairs could win.

“Oxford have Sam Masters and Scott Nicholls who hit a lot of 5-1’s at home so they will be the favourites, but we don’t fear any of the sides.

“I really do think we have as good a chance as anybody, especially if we can team-ride well.

“I have a good record with this event, I have won it twice and then came runner-up last year and who knows what this year’s will bring.”
