BERWICK rounded off their Cab Direct Championship campaign with a 48-42 win at Workington to confirm fifth place in the league table.

It was the Bandits’ first away win since May 2024 and the result moved them to within two points of play-off qualifiers Edinburgh in the final standings.

Danish star Peter Kildemand scored a 14+1 paid maximum against his former club, having represented the Comets at their former Derwent Park home in the early stages of his career.

Jonas Jeppesen was also unbeaten with 10+2 from four rides, and skipper Drew Kemp weighed in with 12 from five. Antti Vuolas scored 10 for the hosts, who end the season seventh in the table.

Stand-in Bandits boss Steve Dews said: “It was a good way to end the season and the boys worked hard to make sure we got the win.

“Workington is a track where you have to be on your game every lap, but it is good to give the fans something as our season comes to an end.”
