Report
REDCAR booked their place in the Championship KO Cup Final with a 54-36 win over Edinburgh for a 14-point aggregate victory.
The Bears had four double-figure scorers in a powerful second leg performance, led by returning captain Charles Wright with 13+1, whilst guest Richard Lawson added 11, Lewis Kerr scored 10+1 and reserve Kasper Andersen picked up 10.
The result will also give the Teesside outfit confidence as they face the same opponents in the league play-offs next week.
Josh Pickering scored 13 for the visitors but they were unable to defend their narrow first leg advantage.
Monarchs boss John Campbell said: “We didn’t do enough in either leg. Sam Masters’ machine problems didn’t help.
“I felt we were still in with a chance if we could have kept it close and got Sam going, but it wasn’t to be.
“Next week in the play-off we will be looking for a few more points at home and I think we will be in with a chance.”
