LEICESTER boosted their play-off prospects by coming back from six points down to win 46-43 at Plymouth.
The Gladiators started well with Zane Keleher setting a track record on the new-length circuit, but the Lions were level after Heat 8 in tricky conditions after rain, and they picked up a 5-0 in Heat 10 when home guest Richard Lawson and Dillon Ruml both crashed out.
Ryan Douglas secured the away win when he took the flag in Heat 14, with the Lions limited to three match points by a 5-1 to the hosts in Heat 15.
Douglas scored 11+1 for the visitors with captain Kyle Howarth on 11+3, whilst Lawson (12+2) and Bjarne Pedersen (11+1) led the way for the hosts.
Howarth said: “It was a tough night for everyone but I’m proud of the boys, we did what we had to do.
“It’s great to put three points on the board, a shame we couldn’t quite get that extra point, but we move on to Poole in good heart.”
Keleher said: “I think we lost any home track advantage after the rain. It was a tough night although I’m delighted to get the track record which I think is the first I have ever achieved.”
