Report

CONNOR Bailey won the National Development League Riders’ Championship with a 15-point maximum on his home Workington track.

Bailey was the class of the field on the day, roaring to five straight wins to finish three points clear of Edinburgh duo Max Clegg and Jacob Hook on 12, with Clegg winning the run-off for second place.

Leicester’s Ashton Boughen was just off the podium with 11 points whilst former double winner Ben Morley finished on 10.

Bailey said: “It’s been a good meeting, I made five gates which is unheard of for me, so that’s positive I guess, and the track was really nice and the bike was working, it did what it needed to do.

“It’s a good way to sign off for Workington and see the season out. I’ve enjoyed riding in front of them every week, and just putting on a good show.

“It’s such a nice track to ride and I’ve enjoyed every second this year.”
