LEICESTER’S Dan Thompson marked his first appearance at No.1 with his first National Development League maximum in the 45-45 draw with Mildenhall.
Thompson went through the card with a full 15 from five rides, and his 4-2 with brother Joe in Heat 15 ensured a second successive home share for the Lion Cubs.
Fen Tigers debutant Sam Hagon took extra rides and impressed with 12+2 after fellow reserve Luke Muff crashed out, and Jordan Jenkins added 10+1.
Dan Thompson said: “It was a brilliant meeting for myself. I was very consistent with my gating tonight and I felt like I had a lot of speed out on track.
“I had to make a few passes but I’m very confident in my equipment and I have ridden here long enough to figure out the lines by now.
“Watching the more experienced boys doing it week in, week out always helps too.”
Fen Tigers boss Malcolm Vasey said: “For a first meeting of the season I have to be pleased with what I have witnessed, we did look a little rusty but became stronger as the meeting progressed and with a little luck would have won.
“The lads gave their all and there was an excellent team spirit in the pits. Sam rode like a seasoned professional rather than a league debutant and looks an excellent prospect.”
