Leicester Lion Cubs v Buxton Bulls

LEICESTER raced to an emphatic 60-30 win over Buxton to complete a 38-point aggregate victory in their NDL Challenge fixtures.

The Lion Cubs dominated at the Hydroscand Arena with Ryan Ingram continuing his stunning form with 15+2, whilst Max Perry added 13+1 as both dropped their only points to Bulls No.1 Alfie Bowtell. 15-year-old Seth Norman also scored paid-12.

Bowtell, with 15, scored half of the Bulls’ points on his own with four wins after a Heat 1 penalty for breaking the tapes, although he lost out to the inspired Ingram in Heat 15.

Ingram said: “I’m really happy with my performance today. We worked well as a team and that showed on track.

“I enjoyed the meeting, and Heat 15 was pretty good! I’m feeling good at Leicester now, and I’m looking forward to carrying this form forward.”

Buxton boss Laurence Rogers said: “Alfie rode really well along with (guest) Ben Whalley, and Jack Shimelt improved as the meeting went on.

“Leicester are a strong side, especially at home, and not many teams if any will get much around here, and they will most certainly in my opinion be up there challenging for the league title at the end of the season.”
