GLASGOW climbed back to third place in the Championship with a comfortable 54-36 win over Berwick.
Former Tigers favourite Richard Lawson proved an able deputy for Craig Cook with 12+1, and boss Cami Brown says they can now head into forthcoming away matches with confidence.
He said: “It was tight at first, but we didn’t expect anything less. The guys have been tremendous – everybody has contributed.
“I think Tom Brennan has been really unlucky with having a fall in his first race, and his No.1 bike blew in his third race. I think we’ll see a lot more from him in the future.
“We needed three points to get us kicking off again. We go away from home next week and we’ll go with confidence. It’s going to be really difficult at Poole and Leicester, but we’ll give it our best.”
Berwick reserve Kasper Andersen piled up a highly impressive 16+1 from seven rides and Leon Flint won his opening two outings – but No.1 Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen failed to score.
Boss Gary Flint said: “Poor Nikolaj had a complete mare when we know he’s a class act, so tonight he can just forget about, we know he’ll come good again next time.
“Kasper was excellent again at reserve and got us important points all through the match, while Leon started like a train, but found things harder later on.
“But all in all, at the home of a club battling for the league title, this wasn’t half a bad Berwick performance. Pride to be had I think, just a shame we lost ground in the closing stages.”
